Description
Sea Sense is conducting research into the migratory behaviour of green turtles to better understand their movements and identify important foraging grounds and migratory corridors in the western Indian Ocean region. This kind of information is being used in Tanzania to develop a National Sea Turtle Status Report which will eventually feed into a National Sea Turtle Recovery Plan. To date, satellite tags have been deployed on nesting green turtles in Mafia Island, Temeke and Pangani which are the three most important green turtle rookeries in Tanzania.
