The limited atlas gives an overview of the most important uses of the Belgian part of the North Sea. For each activity, there is a map and explanatory text. The atlas includes the following maps: division of the maritime zones in the North Sea according to the law of the sea; Belgian maritime zones in the North Sea; sand and gravel extraction; dredging; industrial waste sites, war munitions, military exercises; main shipping routes and vessel traffic separation schemes along the Belgian coast; Operational ship-borne pollution (1991-1995) and pollution-combating zones in the Belgian part of the North Sea; pipelines in the maritime area within Belgian jurisdiction; important bird areas.
