Latvia: development of a legislation for the protection of the marine environment in Latvia and application of environmental management for ports
Period: January 1999 till April 2000
Status: Completed
This project is carried out within the framework of the Flemish Co-operation programme for Central and Eastern Europe. The objectives of this project are:

  • the development of a regulation for the protection of the marine environment in Latvia in accordance to the EU requirements;
  • the draft of an environmental management plan for the most important ports in Latvia;
  • the transfer of know-how and training.
