Soortstructuur en ecofysiologie van Pseudonitzschia pungens, P. multiseries en verwante vertegenwoordigers van het toxische diatomeeëngenus Pseudonitzschia in de Noordzee en aangrenzende kustwateren.
The aims of the current project are (1) to contribute to a better understanding of the nature and evoluationary context of (cryptic) variation patterns in reproductive, molecular-phylogenetic, morphological, toxigenic and ecophysiological characteristics in representative of the genus Pseudo-nitzschia, and (2) gain a better insight into the factors that induce blooms and toxicity in these organisms. The project will be focused on the Pseudo-nitzschia pungens/multiseries/fraudulenta complex.
