Using in toto preparations, this project aims at an understanding of tooth replacement patterns in some bony fish and especially Danio rerio, in order to help to solve questions such as 1) what are the triggers necessary for the initiation of new tooth germs and 2) how did the system evolve from a unicuspid, polyphyodont to a multicuspid diphyodont condition.
