In the context of fish migration between the Scheldt and the Reduced Tidal Areas, in 2015, during the annual 13-hour measurement in the GOG/GGG Bergenmeersen, WL measured the slope of one non-return valve in addition to the incoming and outgoing flow. The measurement of the non-return valve and the analysis were carried out under project 15_034. The measurement of flow rate and valve angle were successful. The analysis provided important insights into the fish migratory capacity of the non-return valve. The measured levels upstream and downstream of the structure were less reliable. During the 13-hour measurement planned on 22/09/2016 at Bergenmeersen, the up- and downstream gauges will be read telemetrically and the outgoing flow rate will be measured by means of an adcp device placed in a shaft. In addition, the INBO will also conduct a test with a cap by and fish trap around the same period. For these reasons, it is considered opportune to measure the slope of the check valve again in 2016. This opinion concerns the measurement of the check valve and analysis of the results analogously as carried out in 2015.
