Abstract
    In Norwegian waters. B. Improvisus if found along the entire southern coast from Oslofjorden to Stavanger but has not yet been recorded further north. A maximum population density of 270 adults/dm 2 is reported. The species survives along the coast during winter, and evidence of 2 settling periods is given.
