Abstract
    The international conference "Financial Instruments of Forest Policy", organised by the European Forest Institute on 17-20 June, 2001 in Rovaniemi, Finland aimed at providing a forum for international discussion on theoretical and practical issues related to the public funding in the field of forest policy. The contributions collected in this volume provide an impressive overview on the state of the art in this field with a special focus on the European context.
