In a section report of a Common Dolphin Delphinus delphis, found dying in a Belgian harbour (Zeebrugge) on 10 January 1986, a barnacle on the tail stock was mentioned. It very probably was Xenobalanus globicipitis, a species phoretic on cetaceans. This would be a first record in the North Sea.
