The X Formation is intercalated at the top of the Couvinian from Wellin, between the Jemelle and Hanonet Formations and consists of crinoidal limestones rich in stromatoporoids and corals including many colonial rugose corals. Xystriphyllum pachythecum (GLINSKI. 1955), Cyathophyllum multicarinatum n. sp., Sociophyllum semiseptatum (SCHLüTER, 1881), S. rotfwerneri BIRENHEIDE, 1979 and the solitary coral Stringophyllum wadilinum n. sp. are described herein. The definition of the genus Cyathophyllum GOLDFUSS, 1826 is emended and this taxon is now restricted to the colonial forms.
