Abstract
Demonstrates how difficult it is to determine the mean fields of flows and concentrations during a one-day period, owing to the different tidal components and to the nonlinear terms in the equations of the dynamics and conservation of the mass of different integrated constituents. In order to simulate fields over a lengthy period, it is worth developing an averaging technique to reduce the numbers of iterations. This means that new coefficients of eddy viscosity and dispersal need to be introduced. A method of calculation to determine the mean fields (flows and concentrations) is proposed, based on the calculation of dispersal coefficients.
