Abstract
Acoustic telemetry techniques are used to study the swimming activity rhythms of various fish species in saltmarsh culture conditions. This method is also used to investigate the effects of environmental changes on fish behaviour. The observations were carried out in a net pen of 30m2 situated in a saltmarsh of 1800m2. Nycthemeral rhythms were observed in common sole Solea solea L. and turbot Psetta maxima L. In juvenile sea bass Dicentrarchus labrax L. (30cm long), disturbances in the feeding and the swimming activity were apparent when meteorological events modified environmental conditions.
