Fosliella farinosa (Lamour.) Howe var. chalicodictya Taylor has been described in 1939 after material from the Caribbean Sea. It has never been mentioned since the descriptio princeps. We found it sometimes while assorting phytosociological relevés from Banyuls and Port-Cros (France). Lophosiphonia scopulorum (Harv.) Womersl., described from Australia, has recently been mentioned by Ardre (1970) along the Portuguese coasts. We noted this species at Banyuls. Both taxa are new for the Mediterranean Sea; the first one is new for the French algological flora.
