It has been studied forms in which three little gastropods - Rissoa parva (da Costa, 1779), Barleeia unifasciata (Montagu, 1803) and Bittium reticulatum (da Costa, 1778), coexisting in the same microhabitat, on Halopteris scoparia L., obtain their energy from different food sources, respectively: tips of Halopteris (Rissoa), algal detritus (Barleeial) and detritus in general (Bittium). In this way, distributing the available space adequately between them, the system can support a high density of each of the three species.
