Stedelijke gebieden van laaggelegen kustzones zijn beschermd tegen overstroming door een hybride zacht-harde kustverdedigingsconstructie. Het voorgestelde onderzoek doelt naar nieuwe inzichten in de invloed van dergelijke ig golven op de golfvoortplanting over het strand en de dijk (hydrodynamica), en hoe de stranderosie daardoor wordt beïnvloed (morphodynamica).
