Huge catches of herring
Description The N708 in the port of Oostende packed with herring. The ship left the evening before and caught 58.000 kg of herring in one night of pair trawling with the N709. In the short period of 4 years between two bans one could fish for herring in front of the Belgian coast. There were plenty: fishing vessels left in the evening, fished over night and landed the next day. This from Sunday evening till Friday noon. (October 1973)
