Save the date! Eight EMB-forum on "Supporting the Ocean Decade in Europe"

At the end of the first year of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, the 8th EMB Forum will discuss European efforts in support of the Ocean Decade. This will be an important opportunity to reflect on what has already been achieved in this first year and what can be further adapted and developed as the Ocean Decade progresses. After a formal opening, the Forum will consist of three main sessions: the role of Early-Career Ocean Professionals, current science and communication activities, and how to bridge the gap between science and policy in support of the Ocean Decade.

  • Ocean Decade stakeholders from science, academia, business, policy and governance, NGOs and the public are welcome to join the 8th EMB Forum to:
  • Hear what "the Ocean we want" means to a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Discuss the role of Early-Career Ocean Professionals in the Ocean Decade, and how to develop links with this target group;
  • Find out what the European Marine Board and its network are already doing to support "the Ocean we want;
  • Discuss how to inspire and engage wider stakeholders in the Ocean Decade; and
  • Discuss how we can bridge science and policy at European and national level to support the Ocean Decade.

This event is officially recognised as an Ocean Decade activity.
