Abstract
    The rhizocephalan parasite Septosaccus cuenoti on the hermit crab Diogenes pugilator, is recorded for the first time from the coast of Belgium. The parasite was fisrt detected near Koksijde on the west coast of Belgium, bordering France where it was common. Septosaccus cuenoti was also present in Diogenes pugilator collected in May on a beachin Oostende.
