IMIS - Marine Onderzoeksgroepen

The dataset LEVABENTOX contains the records of occurrence and abundance of 15 taxa of benthic microalgae from the classes Dinophyceae, Coscinodiscophyceae, Fragilariophyceae, and Cyanophyceae. The sampling was conducted along the shores of the Region of Murcia and the province of Almería in the Mediterranean coast of Spain, between September 2024 and September 2025. Benthic samples of epiphytic microalgae were collected at 20 sampling sites, 15 were beaches and 5 were in the natural reserve of Cabo Tiñoso. The sampling and analysis were conducted in the framework of the project LEVABENTOX by IRTA and UPCT dedicated to the integrated surveillance of benthic toxic dinoflagellates along the Levantine shore of Spain.
