Abstract
    The hooded seal Cystophora cristata that stranded on the Belgian coast on 3 October 1999 (Haelters & Kerckhof, 2000) was released in the North Sea in position 54°40'N/001 °02'E on 14 January 2000. The seal has a tag in the hind flipper with the inscription "MUS.SC.NA T .BRUSSELS, BE - 027".
